| Customer Reviews: A Must Read October 21, 2009 Eleanor Thompson (Pennsylvania) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a must read for any woman who seeks to achieve and excel in the work place. Analytical, practical and filled with insights, strategies, tactics and pure wisdom you absolutely need to know!
It will come as no surprise to you that men and women are different, and this book puts Mars and Venus in the context of the work place: different communication styles; different goals, motivations and drives; different approaches to problem solving; different ways of relating; different demands, expectations and approaches to career. And yet, the authors agree that men and women can work together well in the workplace to accomplish common goals. They just have to work smart and they have to recognize differences. This book gives you a better understanding about what is going on in the work place, why it's going on and what you need to do to achieve a meaningful, fulfilling career in business. And the many stories told will both teach and entertain you. See if you don't recognize yourself in more than one.
Great Book to Really Dig into Your Own Effectiveness as a Business Woman November 6, 2009 LizaMH (Phila, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
You've all heard of 360 Evaluations - this book is like a personal, spherical 360. It literally guides you to look at yourself from every possible angle as a businesswoman - from networking and communication style and making the most of a mentor to "Political Astuteness" and work/life balance. This book is so packed full of ways to inquire into your effectiveness as a business woman, it occurred to me that the best way to use it would be to get a group of women committed to growing in their effectiveness in business together for year and discuss a chapter a month and make promises for actions to get the most out of each section. The authors have done us a great service by putting their years of knowledge of working with women business leaders into one place!
A Guide to Success for Women February 15, 2010 S. Bellamy Breaking into the Boys Club is enlightening and a must read to build essential leadership skills and effectively manage your career. It provides tangible advice for addressing situations that most women will face in business. Most importantly, for those who have tried to navigate the waters of Corporate America independently, it helps you realize that you are not alone, that your experiences may not be unique, and provides the steps and often words, to guide you to success. Breaking into the Boys Club is on the top of my list of recommended books for my mentees and colleagues.
A must read for any woman who wants to be successful May 15, 2010 A. Gampine, PhD, MBA Dear Molly:
I just couldn't resist the urge to write and tell you how much you are changing my life very positively through your book, "Breaking Into The Boy's Club." I have started reading it as soon as I bought it from the event on April 28 and every single sentence delights my heart and energizes me. I keep wondering how far I could have been in my career today had I read this book when I started working in Corporate America. Every working woman would benefit greatly from reading this book and thank you a million for contributing to lifting women up.
